Description
WinterStar Ampac's new overseeding perennial ryegrass, is bred for fast establishment and great, dark green winter color. WinterStar is an excellent choice when deciding what to use for overseeding dormant warm-season turf or thin/damaged cool-season turf. Whether it be a lawn, golf course or sports field, WinterStar will provide the quality turf desired.
WinterStar is an early maturing variety which means quicker transition when needed in the spring as the warm-season grasses begin to break dormancy and "wake up".
WinterStar also ranked tops for salt tolerance in a salinity trial done at Texas A&M. Where the possibility of salt or saline conditions may occur, WinterStar should be your choice in perennial ryegrass.
When applied in non-overseeding circumstances, WinterStar maintains an excellent turf quality for up to 3 years forming a dense, wear resistant surface. It is also an excellent choice in blends with other cool-season grasses such as Perennial Ryegrasses, Kentucky Bluegrass and Creeping Red Fescue.
